If a Supplement Facts panel lists something like "Electrolyte Blend — 500mg" followed by a list of ingredients with no individual amounts, that's a legally allowed but meaningfully weaker disclosure than a label that lists each mineral separately.

Here's why that's allowed at all: FDA rules for "proprietary blends" only require the brand to disclose the total weight of the blend and list the ingredients in descending order by weight — they do not require the brand to break out how many of those milligrams are sodium versus potassium versus some other ingredient entirely. In practice, this means a "500mg electrolyte blend" could be mostly sodium with a token amount of everything else, and you have no way to tell from the label alone.

What to do with this: treat "electrolyte blend" (or "proprietary blend," "hydration blend," "mineral matrix," etc.) as a prompt to look elsewhere for the individual numbers, not as automatic disqualification — some brands blend for legitimate formulation reasons.
